Yes, I'm Officially An Addict

By definition, and addict is a person who is dependent on or so unable to give up a habit. I have a new habit, thanks to all my friends who told me to read Twilight. I absolutely loved the book and finished it in 2 days. I even went out and bought the other two books in the series, New Moon and Eclipse. Breaking Dawn will be out August 2nd and have already pre-ordered my copy. I am so so so excited to see the movie, December 12th. I have a feeling it will end up being another girls night out :) I can't wait!

Pampers & Unicef

I'm sure by now everyone has seen at least one commercial for Pampers and Unicef. With every specially marked pack of Pampers that you purchase (which are my favorite) Pampers will donate the cost of one vaccine to help UNICEF protect a woman and her newborns against tetanus. They have already donated 25 million vaccines and need 20 million more to reach their goal. Next time your at the store and have to buy diapers, make sure you buy the specially marked box of Pampers. Even if you don't normally buy Pampers, remember that it's going to a great cause.

Greg's B Day

Since we didn't go to the family reunion this year, Greg and I were able to go out to eat for his birthday. Thank you Uncle Nathan and Jenna for watching the boys for us. We ended up at Westgate eating at Bar Louie, and then some window shopping. I love going on dates with my husband!

Trevor's 7 Month Birthday

Trevor is learning and growing everyday. He is starting to say mamamama, which of coarse I absolutely love to hear. He is clapping his hands too. He is standing alone as long as he has something to hold onto. We are still working on the crawling thing. He is getting there though. He gets in his crawling position, then rocks back and forth. I'm just waiting for the day when he actually takes off. He will grab anything in his sight and put it straight in his mouth. He is eating crackers and lots of baby food. When he gets a chance, he will steal whatever is on Cody's plate. He has 6 teeth now and loves to stick out his tongue to feel them. He is definitely getting his 'fake' cry down and learning how to use it with mom and dad. I feel so blessed to have such a wonderful, sweet natured baby.

Ladies, Mark Your Calendars!!!!!

I think we are all in need (and deserve) of another 'Ladies Night Out'! How does Friday July 11th or Saturday July 12th sound? I was thinking that since Westgate is pretty close to all of us, we could meet at the fountains again and then go to The Shout House <-(click on link for info). It's a Rock n Roll, Sing Along, Duelling Pianos kind of place. If you have ever been to the Big Bang before, it's very much the same concept. Fun atmosphere, good entertainment, and something different from the everyday norm. Whats the word ladies?

S.Y.T.Y.C.D-Kherington & Twitch

These two are by far my favorite!

Happy Birthday Gregory!!!

Gregory turns 26 today. Happy Birthday love!!!!!!
This was from Gregory's birthday 6 years ago...how time flies

Some of the things I love about Gregory:

He is so brave! Anyone willing to go to war and risk their life for our safety gets a gold star in my book.
He is a wonderful father. Things have been stressful lately, but he is still great with our kids and they love their daddy.
He can always make me laugh (even when I don't want to:)
He dances like a white boy. His dances are so hilarious and even though he looks ridiculous doing it, he wants me to smile.
I feel so safe with him. I know he would never let anything happen to our family.
He is genuine.
He is kind.
He is really smart (even though he doesn't think so).
He is an amazing artist.
He is a gentleman. He is that guy that will always hold the door for someone, give up his seat for an old lady or help someone stopped on the side of the road to fix their car.
He is a dreamer.
He loves animals.
He is very handy. He could probably fix anything, and if he didn't know, he would figure out how.
I can tell him anything without feeling stupid, even when it's really blonde-o-licious.
Last but not least, he is my best friend and a wonderful husband.
Happy Birthday handsome!

Cody Update

I'm sure most of you already know about Cody, if you don't, he doesn't talk. He is doing everything else a 3 year old should be doing, but talking. Somehow, the past 3 years of his life he has figured out a way to teach everyone what he wants. When he was younger, it was pretty much like playing charades with him. He would make every single noise on the planet and act out everything in gestures, but would not say the darn word. He pretty much trained everyone in his life, so he really never had to talk, b/c everyone already knew what he wanted, and if we didn't know, he would just do it himself (he likes to think he is an independent 3 year old). He is actually saying a lot more now, but still isn't where he should be with his speech. I took him to Litchfield Elem. and had him tested and they told me to come back in August (For those of you that don't know, my life motto is My life is based on instant gratification) and waiting for August was just too long for me. So when I was at Trevor's app, my pediatrician, who is great by the way, wanted to send Cody to some specialist. So now, we are on a waiting list to see a speech therapist and have an appointment in September to see a Psychologists. They want to determine if he has a hearing problem or cognitive problem with his brain which is causing him not to talk, or if it is simply a delay in speech. I also have another appointment with the school district in August to have him tested again (they wanted him to be potty trained first), although I was advised by the Developmental Dr not to take him there, b/c it might interfere with their testing. Whatever the findings are, I figure he has to be pretty smart to get through this far in life and have everyone know what he wants and what he is "trying" to say.

Blog Facelift

Thank you Julie for telling me about the blog website. I was able to change my background without deleting everything. The old blog definitely needed a face lift for the great 4th of July, the best holiday (besides Christmas of coarse :)

http://thecutestblogontheblock.com/backgrounds.php?pageNum_rs_backs=1&totalRows_rs_backs=22&cat=53
Here is the web address for the cutest blogs on the block

Fathers Day

Fathers Day was a fun day. We went over to John and Keri's and had GREAT dinner! Definitely food I should not be eating right now, but great ( garlic bread is my enemy ). Cody was so excited for John to open is present and he was sure it was going to be a truck, the kids favorite thing in the world. He was a little disappointed when the truck turned out to be an air compressor. And of coarse we played games. We are a big game family. Some of our favorites include Mexican Train Domino's, Dirty, and Killer Bunnies.

Boys Will Be Boys

Yesterday while I was taking a nap (I've been exhausted lately) Greg was supposed to be watching Cody...huh.. Cody pulled a fast one over on Gregory. While Gregory was watching TV, Cody decided he was going to go into his brothers room, take his baby powder and dump it all over himself. I was taking some video of Trevor today and these are the pictures I found on my camera. I did have to do some editing, this is a family blog you know :)

The look on Codys face here cracks me up

You should see his room, it looks like a snow storm and smells like a clean baby butt:)

HHMMM

So if I want to change my backround picture without having to go back and re-add everything again, what do I do? I know I go to edit html, but is there something specific that I erase instead of everything?

S.Y.T.Y.C.D Update

So You Think You Can Dance had eliminations tonight...hooray! my 4 picks are still in it (refer to earlier post:) I was so happy to see Wade Robertson as a choreographer! His talent and ideas are amazing. I had read somewhere that he wasn't doing the show this year but I'm very excited he is. Cody cracks me up watching the show because he tries to imitate the dancers...LOL His booty shake is hilarious! I need to post some video of him.

Any early favs?

Heavy Weight

Trevor had his 6 month appointment today...a little late if you ask me, but his stats are in. He weighed 2o lbs and 15 oz ( I weighed him yesterday and he was 21 lbs 2 oz) and was 29 inches long. I never saw the nurse check his length, so I might have to measure him myself? How is my 6 1/2 month old almost 3 feet?! That's crazy to me! He's a heavy weight with an even bigger heart! He didn't get any shots because he's been sick, so we have to go back next Monday for those, poor kid.

Sunday Trip

With it being so hot outside, Greg and I decided to go to Lake Pleasant today and play in the water. Trevor still isn't feeling well, so he went to Grandmas house. We ended up taking Greg's truck and its a good thing too. We ended up going on a dirt road that we thought not a lot of people could get to. You almost needed 4 wheel drive to get there...It was pretty quiet the first hour we were there. Cody and the dogs had fun swimming in the water. Tank could be a life guard, he loves to swim so much. I like to test him and pretend I'm drowning and sure enough, he always rescues me. He's such a great dog. Anyway, we had been there about an hour and a half and all of sudden I could have sworn we were in Mexico! It was like there were 3 little cars and 50 people. How the heck do they all fit in there? Im not saying this to be mean (3 of my very close friends happen to be Mexican) I love my mexican mamas! We just like our privacy at the lake. Plus, seeing me in a bathing suit is frightening enough. So we decided it was time to go. It was fun while it lasted though.

It's hard to tell from the picture, but Cody was trying to ride Tank like horse. If you look closely, you can see Tanks head popping up out of the water

Westgate

Last Wednesday for play group we went to Westgate. Where was everyone at? It was just Jeanne, Mehgan and myself. Nevertheless, the kids had fun playing in the fountains. Cody and Caden had fun pretending to be lions.

Dont forget, this Wednesday play group is at Arrowhead :)

So You Think You Can Dance

If you have no clue what So You Think You Can Dance is, it means you've been living under a rock for the past 4 summers. This is probably the best dance competition on TV. The bar has been set so high for this year, considering last years dancers were amazing. If you don't watch this show, I would highly recommend it. The dancers are amazing, the judges are hilarious ( and they actually know what they're talking about) and the choreographers are so awesome. My early girl favorites? Courtney G and Kherington. Early guy favorites? Twitch and Thayne. LeAnne, Heather...why haven't you auditioned?:)

My Son Is A Highjacker

On Sunday my sister-in-law Rachel came over and we took the boys to Goodyear park to play in water. Cody was having a lot of fun playing in the water, then running over to the play ground to get warm, then running back to the water to cool off. One of the times when Cody was over in the park area this boy comes driving up in one of those Power Wheels Escalades that drive on their own. I said to Rachel, I hope Cody doesnt see that (I have to literally pull him out of one kicking and screaming everytime we go to Toys R Us) So a little while goes by while we're playing with Trevor and I looked up to see what Cody was doing...he had taken that kids Power Wheels and was driving around. You know, I admire his determination for going after what he wants, but we might have to tone it down a bit :)

Cody

I found these pictures of Cody that we had done in January and realized I have never posted them before.

Is It Christmas Yet?

So lately I've been a little bummed. Greg is having such a hard time with the VA. He has been trying to start volunteering again and it just isn't going anywhere...pretty much how the VA works. So now, we are down $800 a month and I guess it doesn't sound like a lot, but when you have to buy groceries and the ever so expensive gas, it makes a huge difference. I started thinking, what can I do to cheer myself up?... I LOVE Christmas! I found Cody's Christmas outfit from a couple years ago and decided to dress Trevor up. I couldn't help but smile when I looked at him. He is so darn cute!

Friday

Friday we went to my moms house for a little bit, did some shopping at my favorite,Club Target then went to John & Keri's. We had a little BBQ and then went to the duck park, aka Cortez park. Here are some pictures of our Friday.
I LOVE this picture of Gregory and Trevor

Don't fall in Cody!

Our Slide Show

All About The Kiddos

Cody was born in Yuma, AZ on May 10, 2005. He was born at 2:54 on a Tuesday morning. He was 7lbs 2oz and was 19 inches long... I think back on it now, and all I really remember was being in pain for the whole day. I had a Drs appointment Monday morning and my Dr stripped my membranes. Yes, it's as painful as it sounds. After my appointment, Greg and I went and walked around Wal-Mart. Sounds funny, but it was the middle of summer in Yuma and Wal-mart was the only cool place to walk. I had been having little contractions here and there but nothing substantial. After walking, we went home and waited a while. Finally by 8 o'clock that night, I was ready. The hospital was 30 minutes away. Once I got into triage, I wasn’t dilated enough to be admitted so 2 more hours of harsh contractions walking around the hospital. I do remember Greg being a wonderful coach though. It seemed like the only thing that would help was to sway side to side. Im sure it probably looked like we were dancing. Finally around 11:30 they admitted me. I had my epidural and I was set. They called my Dr around 12. Too bad for me it took her 2 and a half hours to get there!!!! I always wondered what took her so long. I think I had to push maybe 5 times and there he was. My mom and Greg’s family made it just in time. They drove down from Phoenix just in time to see sweet Cody Boy. Cody was a colic baby which made for long nights and hard days. I think he was pretty much over that by the time he was 3 months. He has always been very expressive about what he likes and does not like. He makes it very clear when he wants or needs something. There is really no ignoring him, b/c he'll find a way to get what he wants. He is also very stubborn and hard-headed, but at the same time he is so cute, it's hard to be mad at him. Ever since he was a baby, he had to touch my hair in order to fall asleep. He still does that. He's a mama’s boy when it comes to cuddling, but he also has to get in his wrestle time with Daddy. Cody loves all animals and animals seem to love him (could be he always has some sort of food on him). He loves to play cars and trucks. I think he must have 100 hot wheels. My mom got him a spring horse that he loves to play on, especially when Gregory is watching Westerns. He gets his cowboy hat on and his play gun stuck in the back of his diaper and just goes to town being "Cowboy Cody." It’s so much fun just to watch him play and use his imagination. He is such a wonderful, free spirited little boy. He is also turning out to be an awesome big brother.

Just a quick tid bit...My best friend Kate and I found out were due a day apart last March. Her due date was November 19th and mine was the 20th. Well, Kate had baby girl Riley the same day I had Trevor! What are the odds right?

Trevor was born on Wednesday November 21, 2007 at 10:19 in the morning. He was a big boy at 8lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. I was induced with Trevor because there was no luck with stripping the membranes (twice) and I never had any contractions. I was supposed to go in early morning on the 19th, but the hospital was too full. So, I was put on a waiting list. Finally, around 11 at night on the 20th, I was called in. I had sent a text to Kate to let her know I was on my way to the hospital and her husband Cody text me back to let me know she was already there (we delivered at different hospitals). Once I got there, they gave me patocin to induce me and an epidural a little while later. It was great! The delivery part of it was nothing. I had to push maybe 3 times and he was born within minutes, healthy as could be. However, a little after he was born I started to feel nauseous. I ate some yogurt and sure enough it came right back up. I sat up in bed and saw white spots everywhere and heard ringing in my ears then blacked out. They took some blood work and it said I was anemic. I was having lots of blood clots coming out. The Dr ran in and started cleaning me out and pushing on my stomach and let me tell you it hurt like heck. I like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerance too (2 kids before this, 2 tattoos, and a couple of piercings with no complaints) but this sucked!!! I was shaking uncontrollably; I thought I was having a seizer. I guess I was going in and out of it, b/c I woke up later and Greg had put a rose on my chest. I remember waking up and asking him if he thought I died. It was probably one of the scariest times of my life (besides Greg leaving for Iraq). Im so glad my mom was there to explain to me in English all the Doctor lingo. I did get to go home for Thanksgiving with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. This was a big deal because I had some scares early on in my pregnancy. On the first ultrasound, we found out that my placenta was sitting way too low so it was squishing Trevor’s kidneys. They were way too small. That was terrifying for both Greg and me. After a couple more ultrasounds and a visit to a perinatologist (sounds serious right) we found out everything was fine. I couldn’t figure out what the big deal was for having small kidneys. I mean, there are two of them. Turns out after some research, it can be a sign of Down Syndrome. It was very scary!!!! We are so blessed that Trevor is healthy! Trevor is turning out to be an angel baby. He rarely cries and sleeps all through the night. He smiles all the time and loves to look at the color blue. He loves to watch Cody and always smiles when he gets to take a bath. Trevor just seems to love life. It is so much fun just to sit and cuddle him. He makes the cutest cooing sounds. I can’t wait to see more of his personality. It just goes by too fast. Greg and I are so blessed and we are reminded of that every time we see our beautiful boys.

Justin Gregory Tieman was born Friday September 18, 2009 at 9:11 in the morning. He weighed in at exactly 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Everything in a time period of about 36 hours happened so quickly. I had my Dr’s appointment at 2 on Thursday and when I was there, he asked if I wanted the 12 am or 4 am spot to be induced. I took the 12 am spot. Gregory and I made it to the hospital around 12:30, checked in, and then went up to Labor and Delivery. I was given “the gel” around 2:15 am and by 2:20 I was already having small contractions. My nurse had me get up and walk the halls for about 40 minutes. I’m not sure what time I had my epidural? It was with the first nurse I had, so sometime between 3 and 6 am. I got a new nurse around 6:15 and she let me sleep for about 3 hours to get some rest. She came in 8:45-9:00 to check on me and see if I had dilated at all. To my surprise (and hers), I was fully dilated!!! I had slept through all of my contractions! It’s a good thing my Dr was just down stairs getting ready to come up and break my water. I felt so bad for him. I pretty much shot my baby out at him. I pushed 3 times (for about a minute) and he was out. They did have to use to vacuum on him because I already had some abrasions and was starting to bleed. Luckily I got all the medicine I needed and then some to help with the bleeding and everything went really well. I was able to leave the hospital the next day, feeling pretty good. Justin is only a couple of days old, but he is already such a blessing for our family. He is a wonderful baby and absolutely beautiful. Cody and Trevor can’t seem to get enough of him. They love getting to help feed Justin. They are such good big brothers! With Justin now here, I feel our family is complete. Gregory and I couldn’t be happier to have 3 wonderful boys in our lives!
