The Nutcracker Ballet

The day after Christmas Keri, Rachel, Hailey and I went to go see The Nutcracker Ballet. It was my first time seeing it in person and it was a lot of fun. I loved the costumes! We might have to make that an annual thing?!

My New Camera

Greg's Christmas present to me this year was letting me buy anything I wanted. I picked out the new pink Ipod nano, tennis shoes, some cherry blossom stuff from bath and body, band hero for my DS and the new Nikon D3000 camera kit. I had been researching new cameras for a while now and had it narrowed down to the Canon Rebel XS and the Nikon D3000. I made my choice just in time for Christmas and couldnt be happier. I have had so much taking pictures the past couple of days. Here are some samples.

My Favorite Cody Sayings

Drum roll please, the votes are in...

My favorite Cody sayings of 2009 are....

"You make my heart happy" and "I like ur shirt"

Cody's Hair Fetish

Ever since Cody was a baby, he has loved to play with my hair. That's usually the sign that he's tired and ready for bed. I always used to ask him why he liked doing that and he always said he didn't know. Well last night as I was laying in bed playing Band Hero on my DS, Cody comes in, lays down with me and starts to play with my hair. He says to me "Mom, know why I like to play with ur hair ho (so) much?"....."Cause it's so pretty."

That kid sure knows how to put a smile on my face :))

Justin's 2 Month App.

Although Justin will be 3 months this coming Friday, he had his 2 month appointment today (the insurance lost his birth certificate, so it took a little longer for it to go through).
He was 24 inches long and 13.40 lbs. His Dr was very impressed with how much he's grown and how strong he's become. He has excellent head control and will sit on the couch by himself. He is recognizing faces and voices and loves to laugh. The Dr said since he is so big that I shouldn't worry about waking him up at night for a feeding. He has been sleeping 5-8 hours a night. Well after the Dr was done, it was time for the nurse to come in which means time for the shots. I had him asleep by the time she got in the room, then she gave him his shots, he cried for 2 seconds, then fell asleep again. He was a real trooper although his legs are in a lot of pain as of now. And the whole time we were there Trevor was asking me, "Not me mom, no shots, baby J shots, not me" Im not even kidding when I say he probably asked me, the nurse, and his Dr that same thing about 50 times. He was very relieved when it was time to go and he had escaped without really not getting any shots

Since my mom passed away, this wonderful little boy has brought so much joy and life back into me. Looking at him makes me remember that life goes on and It's ok to be happy. I can honestly say I don't know what I would do without my 3 boys. They are my everything.

Cody's School Program

Yesterday was Cody's preschool Christmas program. I don't know why, but I was so excited for this (He had been practicing his Jingle Bells song on a regular basis and even taught Trevor how to sing it) They started the program by acting out the story Brown Bear, Brown Bear. Cody was one of the bears.

After Brown Bear, they sang Jingle Bells and We Wish You A Merry Christmas.

They sang another song is spanish, but I have no clue what it was. The program lasted about half an hour which I think is just enough time for four year olds. Since school ended after the program, Keri, Rachel, and I decided to take the boys to the mall to go see Santa. Cody with is outgoing and personable self was great with Santa. He let Santa know that he wants 2 nerf guns for Christmas. Trevor on the other hand was probably still too young to like Santa. In fact, he was deathly afraid of him and would not let go of his Auntie Rachel.

Justin's Acting Debut

Saturday night, Justin made his official acting debut. He played baby Jesus in John and Keri's church play and did a fabulous job if I do say so myself :) He didn't cry once and he didn't even know the couple playing Mary and Joseph. He of coarse could have played an Angel as well.

Justin has discovered something fabulous...his tongue! He plays with it all the time :)

When Keri was taking him back to get ready, Cody decided that he needed to be in the play as well. They were kind enough to let him be a little drummer boy. He had no clue what he was doing, but you would have never known the difference. He did a great job as well!

Starting Him Out Early

I have a new football partner!!!!! Justin is only 2 1/2 months, but he sat on my lap for most of that awesome Cardinals game last night! He was also sporting his red "home game" Cardinals outfit. He also has a white one for away games, both from the fabulous Kate.

It can be pretty tiring watching football though...

Justin is holding his head up, smiling, and starting to laugh although I have yet to capture it on camera. He loves sitting up to see everything that's going on around him. He loves his baths and for some reason loves to be on his changing table. Cody and Trevor are both still very good with him. We are so lucky to have this little man in our family

Catching Up

I've been so bad about blogging lately and posting pictures, so here it goes...One of my very good friends, Jeanne, can into town to see New Moon. While she was here, Jeanne, Meghan and I went to dinner at the Vig. It was so great to get together with both of them. I miss not being able to see them 3-4 days a week :) i love you ladies!!!(We must have been having ESP, b/c when they got out of the car, we all had on black shirts with gray sweaters/vests. Great minds think a like:)

Trevor also turned 2! I know I made an earlier post, but here are some pictures of our sweet 2 year old.

My birthday seems to creep up so fast after Trevor's. Greg took me to go see New Moon again at Westgate for my birthday date.
And of coarse baby J is getting bigger by the second.

Our Big 2 Year Old!

Trevor turned 2 years old yesterday!!!! For Trevor's birthday, we went to Riley's birthday party, who coincidentally was born the same day as Trevor. We all had a blast. Kate had the party at Indian Steele park and we were lucky enough to be next to a "big mountain" as Cody put it. The kids had a great time running up and down this huge hill.
Today we went over to Mimi and Papa's to celebrate with family.

Trevor is turning into such an amazing little person!!! I can't even begin to describe how much we all love this little man. He is the sweetest, kindest, most easy going kid I have ever met. He is very polite, says please and thank you, shares his toys with Cody and is always thinking about other people first. I don't even think I could say he has hit 'the terrible two's' because he is sooo good. He just goes with the flow and loves every bit of it. We are sooo blessed to have this wonderful little boy in our lives! And besides being sweet, he is pretty adorable!!!
We Love you Tugga!!!!! Happy Birthday!

Happy Birthday Mom...

Today is/should have been my moms 59th birthday...so young...

Today sucks...

I should be taking my mom out to lunch today then going to get our usual mani/pedi for her birthday...

I know I could look at this situation in a completely different light and say "well, she's in a better place" but I cant, I'm selfish, I want her here with me where she should be.

Sunday night I went to go get subway for dinner. As I was driving home I was thinking "oh it's Sunday, I wonder if my mom is done with bells so I can talk to her?" and then I just felt stupid, so stupid that I could forget she's gone and I'll never talk to her again. It's almost like finding out again for the first time that she's gone...

Yup, today sucks!

There is this song that Taylor Swift wrote called "The Best Day" She wrote it for her mom. It's a great song. It reminds me a lot of the relationship that my mom and I had. She knew how to be a friend when I needed a friend, she knew how to be my mom when I needed my mom. She was amazing...

Halloween

For Halloween, we took the boys to a trunk or treat at John and Keri's church...much safer than walking the neighborhoods if you ask me. All of the boys were supposed to be dragons for Halloween, but Trevor decided he wanted to be a tiger. They started the night with chilly and hot dogs. Then Cody made his way over to the jumpy thing (is there an official name?) Trevor wanted nothing to do with it. Then Cody got to go in his first haunted house with Mimi...and might be his last for a while. He was pretty scared. Trevor did the cake walk and won a cupcake with a finger on it! He didn't want finger, so he gave it to me and it was delicious (it was a candy finger if you didn't guess) Then it was on to the trunk or treat. Daddy took them to all the different cars as I took pictures of my cute little dragons and the cutest Tiger I've ever seen!
(Pictures are a little out of order, sorry)

Desert Botanical Garden

Last Wednesday I took Cody and Trevor to the Desert Botanical Garden. It was a fun date with my boys! Keri got us passes, and it was the first time I have ever been. We really went so we could go to the butterfly exhibit they have there. The whole time on our way there, I was reminding the boys not to touch the butterflies, so what happens, I end up trying to touch them, go figure. Cody was so disappointed that none of the butterflies landed on him. He was trying so hard to stay still. There's something kind of mythical about being surrounded by a bunch of butterflies. After the butterfly exhibit, I took the boys on one of the trails. It was so funny. We were the only people on that particular trail and it was one that had different Indian huts and houses set up. I had the boys so freaked out that Indians were in the bushes following us, Cody whispered to me "We better call Dad!" Trevor is still asking me a week later if there are Indians following us. He says "Indians, scared mom" I know I shouldn't tease them, but it's so funny.

Waiting, waiting, waiting...nope, nothing

Little "me too" doing what big brother does

Grinding the tree seeds...

Cody looks a little nervous b/c he thinks Indians are hiding behind him.

NAU Homecoming Game!!!

A couple of years ago Gregory was invited to be apart of the Wounded Warrior Project. If you've never heard of them before, it's an amazing non-profit organization that supports wounded warriors from all branches of the military. He went to Utah in 2007 and participated in Project Odyssey. A couple of days ago, we got an email asking if Gregory and myself would be interested in going to the NAU homecoming football game to represent the Wounded Warriors. We get to go to the team dinner, talk with the coaches, be on the field for warm ups, get VIP seating, free food, and Gregory gets to do the game coin toss!!!!!!! As everyone knows, I'm a pretty big football fan. I am so excited!!!! And Gregory would much rather watch college football than Pro. He is actually also very excited. So on October 24th we'll be up in Flagstaff watching the Lumberjacks!!!!!!!!! Can't wait!!! Did I mention we get free t-shirts and sweatshirts? I love free things!

New Updates

Oh my goodness, where to start? Lets start with baby J....

Justin is almost a month old! Where the month has gone, I'm not quit sure. He is a wonderful baby! He still loves his sleep which I greatly appreciate. He loves to be held and loves to see what is going on around him which is usually chaos. And the crazy thing, turns out he's allergic to diapers!!!! Is that even possible? He ended up with this crazy, horrible diaper rash that would not go away. I was trying my heart out to get rid of it and nothing was working. At his 2 week appointment, his Dr gave me a prescription for some cream that did absolutely nothing for him. Luckily his nurse told me about Butt Paste, "the one in the yellow box, not the green," she said. It has worked wonders for him! And that brings me to the cloth diapers...that's right, every moms worst nightmare. We tried huggies organic or hypoallergenic diapers, and those didn't work. He has been in cloth diapers for about a week now, and those have helped as well. Gregory came up with the brilliant idea to put a diaper over the cloth diapers since the waterproof covers weren't doing their job. Best idea ever!

This past weekend Gregory and I were actually able to go on 2 dates in a row!!! It was great!!! Nathans girlfriend Jenna watched the boys Saturday while we went and did some shopping, then we went and ate at the Olive Garden. Sunday, Greg's sister Rachel watched the boys while we went to Dave and Busters. It was the first time we had ever been there before and we had a lot of fun. But by 8:30 we were both exhausted and ready to go home...yes, were losers, I know.

Cody is on fall break this week and I am loving not having to drive the 2 1/2 hours everyday to take him and pick him up from school. My dad came over Monday morning and we took the boys to the park to play baseball, and basketball. They had a blast. I think we might go to the zoo or kids museum either Thursday or Friday?...we'll see if Cody can behave himself.

Our Slide Show

All About The Kiddos

Cody was born in Yuma, AZ on May 10, 2005. He was born at 2:54 on a Tuesday morning. He was 7lbs 2oz and was 19 inches long... I think back on it now, and all I really remember was being in pain for the whole day. I had a Drs appointment Monday morning and my Dr stripped my membranes. Yes, it's as painful as it sounds. After my appointment, Greg and I went and walked around Wal-Mart. Sounds funny, but it was the middle of summer in Yuma and Wal-mart was the only cool place to walk. I had been having little contractions here and there but nothing substantial. After walking, we went home and waited a while. Finally by 8 o'clock that night, I was ready. The hospital was 30 minutes away. Once I got into triage, I wasn’t dilated enough to be admitted so 2 more hours of harsh contractions walking around the hospital. I do remember Greg being a wonderful coach though. It seemed like the only thing that would help was to sway side to side. Im sure it probably looked like we were dancing. Finally around 11:30 they admitted me. I had my epidural and I was set. They called my Dr around 12. Too bad for me it took her 2 and a half hours to get there!!!! I always wondered what took her so long. I think I had to push maybe 5 times and there he was. My mom and Greg’s family made it just in time. They drove down from Phoenix just in time to see sweet Cody Boy. Cody was a colic baby which made for long nights and hard days. I think he was pretty much over that by the time he was 3 months. He has always been very expressive about what he likes and does not like. He makes it very clear when he wants or needs something. There is really no ignoring him, b/c he'll find a way to get what he wants. He is also very stubborn and hard-headed, but at the same time he is so cute, it's hard to be mad at him. Ever since he was a baby, he had to touch my hair in order to fall asleep. He still does that. He's a mama’s boy when it comes to cuddling, but he also has to get in his wrestle time with Daddy. Cody loves all animals and animals seem to love him (could be he always has some sort of food on him). He loves to play cars and trucks. I think he must have 100 hot wheels. My mom got him a spring horse that he loves to play on, especially when Gregory is watching Westerns. He gets his cowboy hat on and his play gun stuck in the back of his diaper and just goes to town being "Cowboy Cody." It’s so much fun just to watch him play and use his imagination. He is such a wonderful, free spirited little boy. He is also turning out to be an awesome big brother.

Just a quick tid bit...My best friend Kate and I found out were due a day apart last March. Her due date was November 19th and mine was the 20th. Well, Kate had baby girl Riley the same day I had Trevor! What are the odds right?

Trevor was born on Wednesday November 21, 2007 at 10:19 in the morning. He was a big boy at 8lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. I was induced with Trevor because there was no luck with stripping the membranes (twice) and I never had any contractions. I was supposed to go in early morning on the 19th, but the hospital was too full. So, I was put on a waiting list. Finally, around 11 at night on the 20th, I was called in. I had sent a text to Kate to let her know I was on my way to the hospital and her husband Cody text me back to let me know she was already there (we delivered at different hospitals). Once I got there, they gave me patocin to induce me and an epidural a little while later. It was great! The delivery part of it was nothing. I had to push maybe 3 times and he was born within minutes, healthy as could be. However, a little after he was born I started to feel nauseous. I ate some yogurt and sure enough it came right back up. I sat up in bed and saw white spots everywhere and heard ringing in my ears then blacked out. They took some blood work and it said I was anemic. I was having lots of blood clots coming out. The Dr ran in and started cleaning me out and pushing on my stomach and let me tell you it hurt like heck. I like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerance too (2 kids before this, 2 tattoos, and a couple of piercings with no complaints) but this sucked!!! I was shaking uncontrollably; I thought I was having a seizer. I guess I was going in and out of it, b/c I woke up later and Greg had put a rose on my chest. I remember waking up and asking him if he thought I died. It was probably one of the scariest times of my life (besides Greg leaving for Iraq). Im so glad my mom was there to explain to me in English all the Doctor lingo. I did get to go home for Thanksgiving with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. This was a big deal because I had some scares early on in my pregnancy. On the first ultrasound, we found out that my placenta was sitting way too low so it was squishing Trevor’s kidneys. They were way too small. That was terrifying for both Greg and me. After a couple more ultrasounds and a visit to a perinatologist (sounds serious right) we found out everything was fine. I couldn’t figure out what the big deal was for having small kidneys. I mean, there are two of them. Turns out after some research, it can be a sign of Down Syndrome. It was very scary!!!! We are so blessed that Trevor is healthy! Trevor is turning out to be an angel baby. He rarely cries and sleeps all through the night. He smiles all the time and loves to look at the color blue. He loves to watch Cody and always smiles when he gets to take a bath. Trevor just seems to love life. It is so much fun just to sit and cuddle him. He makes the cutest cooing sounds. I can’t wait to see more of his personality. It just goes by too fast. Greg and I are so blessed and we are reminded of that every time we see our beautiful boys.

Justin Gregory Tieman was born Friday September 18, 2009 at 9:11 in the morning. He weighed in at exactly 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Everything in a time period of about 36 hours happened so quickly. I had my Dr’s appointment at 2 on Thursday and when I was there, he asked if I wanted the 12 am or 4 am spot to be induced. I took the 12 am spot. Gregory and I made it to the hospital around 12:30, checked in, and then went up to Labor and Delivery. I was given “the gel” around 2:15 am and by 2:20 I was already having small contractions. My nurse had me get up and walk the halls for about 40 minutes. I’m not sure what time I had my epidural? It was with the first nurse I had, so sometime between 3 and 6 am. I got a new nurse around 6:15 and she let me sleep for about 3 hours to get some rest. She came in 8:45-9:00 to check on me and see if I had dilated at all. To my surprise (and hers), I was fully dilated!!! I had slept through all of my contractions! It’s a good thing my Dr was just down stairs getting ready to come up and break my water. I felt so bad for him. I pretty much shot my baby out at him. I pushed 3 times (for about a minute) and he was out. They did have to use to vacuum on him because I already had some abrasions and was starting to bleed. Luckily I got all the medicine I needed and then some to help with the bleeding and everything went really well. I was able to leave the hospital the next day, feeling pretty good. Justin is only a couple of days old, but he is already such a blessing for our family. He is a wonderful baby and absolutely beautiful. Cody and Trevor can’t seem to get enough of him. They love getting to help feed Justin. They are such good big brothers! With Justin now here, I feel our family is complete. Gregory and I couldn’t be happier to have 3 wonderful boys in our lives!
