Baby J's First Week

This week has definitely been a learning experience, getting used to taking care of 3 boys, but it has also been so amazing getting to know Justin. I can't believe it has already been a week!

My brain is a little fried right now, so this post is going to be completely random thoughts.

Justin is an absolute sweetheart to say the least! He loves to be held and cuddled and yes, he is sleeping in bed with us. I put him in his crib for about 5 minutes and then I miss him too much. And as of now, he is sleeping a lot! Probably about 18-20 hours a day. I think the only time he has a good cry is when he has to get his diaper changed. I think he is the only one of my boys that has taken a pacifier too...or maybe I just completely vetoed it with Cody and Trevor? He had his first Dr's appointment last week and didn't even lose a whole pound. He was 6.125 lbs and he grew half an inch, coming in at 20 inches long. Now when he's awake, he likes to be propped up in my arms so he can see.

Both Cody and Trevor seem to be enjoying the big brothers role. Cody tends to Justin when we're driving, giving him his bottle or telling him "It's ok baby Justin" if he cries. He is also in charge of making sure the sun doesn't get into Justin's eyes. When we're at home, Trevor loves to try and feed him and gets a little mad when I'm nursing him. He tells me, "No Mom, I do it" And they both have to be in the bathroom when Justin is getting his bath. Both Cody and Trevor are definitely testing to see what they can get away with right now too. But I've been trying to take them to the park at night so they can have their "mom" time. They really liked trying to play basketball and volleyball last night, and it put a huge smile on my face watching them try and shoot baskets.

Justin had his newborn photo shoot today with my best friend Katie. She did an amazing job and I will cherish these photo's forever!

Justin's Story

Justin Gregory Tieman was born Friday September 18, 2009 at 9:11 in the morning. He weighed in at exactly 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Everything in a time period of about 36 hours happened so quickly. I had my Dr’s appointment at 2 on Thursday and when I was there, he asked if I wanted the 12 am or 4 am spot to be induced. I took the 12 am spot. Gregory and I made it to the hospital around 12:30, checked in, and then went up to Labor and Delivery. I was given “the gel” around 2:15 am and by 2:20 I was already having small contractions. My nurse had me get up and walk the halls for about 40 minutes. I’m not sure what time I had my epidural? It was with the first nurse I had, so sometime between 3 and 6 am. I got a new nurse around 6:15 and she let me sleep for about 3 hours to get some rest. She came in 8:45-9:00 to check on me and see if I had dilated at all. To my surprise (and hers), I was fully dilated!!! I had slept through all of my contractions! It’s a good thing my Dr was just down stairs getting ready to come up and break my water. I felt so bad for him. I pretty much shot my baby out at him. I pushed 3 times (for about a minute) and he was out. They did have to use to vacuum on him because I already had some abrasions and was starting to bleed. Luckily I got all the medicine I needed and then some to help with the bleeding and everything went really well. I was able to leave the hospital the next day, feeling pretty good. Justin is only a couple of days old, but he is already such a blessing for our family. He is a wonderful baby and absolutely beautiful. Cody and Trevor can’t seem to get enough of him. They love getting to help feed Justin. They are such good big brothers! With Justin now here, I feel our family is complete. Gregory and I couldn’t be happier to have 3 wonderful boys in our lives!

Ok, so normally I would never, ever, ever put a picture of myself pregnant on here, but since this will probably the last pregnancy shot ever, I thought it fitting to be on here. This was Thursday night before we left for the hospital.

Tonights The Night!!!!!

Tonight is the night I am being induced!!!!! We have to be at the hospital around 12 am. Hopefully by lunch time tomorrow (friday), Justin Gregory Tieman will be here! I was thinking I had another day so I am frantically trying to get everything together, and Greg is frantically trying to put all the car seats in. Cody graduated to a big boy booster seat, and is very excited to give up his spot to Trevor.

I'm not sure when the next post will be, but hopefully only good news with lots of baby pictures.

Nothing to do with the subject, but just had to say Happy Birthday to Ms Hailey who turned 10 yesterday!

Do We Look Alike?

Trevor was sleeping the other day and looked so precious. After I went back and started editing the pictures, I had a little laugh...

People always thought I was a boy when I was little. Even when my mom would dress me in pink and put bows in my hair, people would still say 'Oh, what a cute little boy'.
Well, to me, the perfect word to describe Trevor is 'beautiful'. I know he's a boy, but there is something so angelic about his face. I put one of my 4 month baby pictures next to his 22 month picture. Do we look a like?

This Week...Real Quick

Had another Dr's app today. Dilated to 1 cm, woo-hoo (j/k, not like that means anything these days) Have another app next Thursday, hopefully right before being induced next Friday...Hopefully! My Dr was doing an interview while I was there today, so I didn't get to schedule it yet...but, I will be calling tomorrow to talk to him about it.

Have a foot appointment tomorrow. My ankle is getting worse. The whole thing is swollen even more and is the color of a plum. I guess I spoke too soon about the bruising. The whole walking on crutches thing didn't work out too swell. I had to flex my stomach to use them, and it caused so much pressure in my lower belly every time. Justin did "drop" last night though because of them. Craziest thing ever! I've never had a baby just instantly drop. I had pressure every 5-8 minutes for about an hour last night, but nothing that felt like contractions.

Trevor has an appointment to get shots tomorrow, since he was sick at his Dr's appointment last week.

I have to take Cody to a hearing/vision/dental examine Saturday for his preschool. Who knew going to preschool was like trying to get into the military?

Oh yah! And we have an offer on our house!!!!! Someone from the bank came over today to do a property evaluation for our short sale. We're crossing our fingers.

Ankle Pictures: Then and Now

OK, so here is what the ankle looked like 15 minutes after it happened...

And this is what it looks like now...Still a little swollen, but not a lot of bruising (I told Cody that's why he needs to drink milk, it gives you strong bones :)

At Least It's Not Broken

Let me start off by saying that I have never had a broken bone in my body, thank you very much. I used to play sports, I danced, and I was never a clumsy person...

Last night as I was typing away at the computer, I was sitting on my foot...the foot fell asleep...I tried to get up to put Trevor (who was asleep in my arms) into his crib...not a smart thing. About my second step out I heard something pop and I was on the ground. Cody went and told Greg, "Mommy fell down, hurry!" Within the 5 seconds it took Greg to get to me, my ankle was swollen to the size of a tennis ball, no joke, I have pictures. As I'm laying there on my back unable to move, I think to myself, "Lindsey, did you just really do that?" So around 9:30 last night, the whole family took a trip the wonderful ER. Thank goodness it wasn't busy. After some x-rays the Dr could see it wasn't broken, but from the size of the swelling, he was guessing I pulled the 3 main ligaments in my ankle. I now have a gorgeous removable thigh high cast to compliment my new fashion accessories, the gorgeous silver crutches I have to use to get around. I can't walk on it for 5 days, and if the pain and swelling don't go away by day 3, I get to go meet an orthopedic Dr...
It was also a family affair in the ER as well. Our poor sweet angel baby Trevor, had a temp of 102.4! After his x-rays, the DR said it was the beginning stage of pneumonia. He is now on Augmentin(sp) and doing much better.
After I was discharged from the ER, I was taken up to the second floor, labor and delivery, to monitor the baby. My blood pressure was high in the ER (no surprise there), so I was sent for another NST...The baby was just fine.
By 2:00 this morning, we were on our way home. Thank goodness for Greg's mom Keri!!!! She was there the whole time with us and even went to the boys Dr's appointment with me today. She took care of the boys when we got home and even managed to clean my house while I was in bed asleep...ON HER BIRTHDAY!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH KERI!!!!!!
And my poor husband has been missing school for me being a retard. Thank you love for picking up my slack!
Lets just hope I can walk in 2 weeks when I have 3 kids!!!!!!!

(yes, Im in pain... but it's just physical pain that lets me know I'm still alive...it's the mental and emotional pain from losing my mom and wishing she was there with me last night that is still the problem)...

High Blood Pressure

Why the high blood pressure? Why?
I had to get blood taken today to check for pre-eclampsia...not fun...

I Have Sweet Boys...

I still can't look at my moms blog without crying...
I was just looking at it and Trevor saw me crying and came over and said 'up mom, hug'. He gave me a hug, rubbed my back and said 'ssshhhh'. Then Cody came over, saw what was on the computer, and said 'it's ok mom, I miss Mimi too' and I got another hug. Why are my kids the ones taking care of me? Isn't it supposed to be the other way around?

Ultrasound #4

I had another ultrasound this morning and had much better news today. Last time, the cord was wrapped around his neck twice, which I didn't know...Today it was only draped around his neck, kind of like a scarf. The placenta is still in good position and all of the body parts look great. The measurements from his head, belly, and legs suggest he is 5 lbs right now and is in the 55% tile for size. He is supposed to gain 1/2 a pound a week from now on so we're hopefully looking at a 7 1/2 pound baby...none of that almost 9 lb business this time.

The only thing about Justin is this...This is the position he prefers to be in...I'm my stomach!! I guess he rests his feet on my liver, right under my rib cage, which is why I have a hard time breathing half of the day.

And last night was my first "I'm done being pregnant" feeling/breakdown. I couldn't sleep, my hips were killing me for the first time, I couldn't catch my breath for the life of me, and just all around uncomfortable. But on the bright side, I only have about 4 weeks left and then we get to meet our third beautiful baby boy!

Dr's App

Just a quick update: I had a Dr's appointment today and had to get another NST (stress test). So far, both of the NST's have looked great. I have to get another ultrasound Friday to see if the cord is still wrapped about Justin's neck. If it's not, I'll be done with the stress tests, which is obviously what we're hoping for. Then I have another appointment in 2 more weeks and will be scheduling the induction. 4 weeks away!!!! WOOO-HOOO!

Cody's First Day of Preschool!

For Cody's first day of school, our morning started out wwwwaaaaayyyyy different than usual. Usually, we wake up around 9:30...today the alarm was set for 5:45!!! Cody was actually already semi awake too. He was pretty excited. I went to go get Trevor out of his crib while Cody was getting up and put Trevor back in bed with Greg so I could get Cody ready. There were no fits about what to wear, no screaming at the top of his lungs. I was very impressed with Cody today. He watched Franklin while I got Trevor dressed and then it was time to go.
Cody showing off his Batman backpack
"Cheeeeeese"
Cody saying "Preschooool"
And Trevor letting me know there are ants on the ground...very observant, LOL
We left 45 mins early hoping we would be on time. If your late, the teachers lock the door! Everything was fine until we got stopped at the train!!!!! And I don't think the train driver knew what he was doing. It took a good 15 mins of stopping, going, and reversing for him to finally decide to get out of everyones way! What a pain! BUT, since I was a race car driver in another life, we were able to get there just in time. Actually, I think we were 5 mins late, but parents were still signing their kids in.
Greg and I were both so excited, we both went to pick him up. The teachers said he had a great day and he even wants to go back tomorrow! We'll see how long that lasts :) I keep telling myself it will be much easier when we live a block away...and it will.

Saturday

I have been lucky enough to meet some really great people and have some really awesome friends in my 26 years, but I classify Katie and LeAnne as Best friends to this very day..even after 18 years (give or take some years) And now they too have kids of their own. Katie has Riley w/ another one on the way, and LeAnne has Harper. I'm so excited to be moving back over on that side of town so our kids can grow up together!! Saturday we all got to hang out and go swimming at Katies Moms house. I think it was the first time ever having all of our kids together at the same time?
And Cody was there too, but he was way to busy to sit still for a picture...Oh, and it was also his first time getting stung by a bee!! He screamed bloody murder and of coarse wanted his Dad. Luckily Greg was at my moms house working and it's just a couple blocks away. Cody did push Trevor in the pool twice though, so I guess it was karma?

We have some stinkin cute kids if you ask me!!!! :)))

Our Slide Show

All About The Kiddos

Cody was born in Yuma, AZ on May 10, 2005. He was born at 2:54 on a Tuesday morning. He was 7lbs 2oz and was 19 inches long... I think back on it now, and all I really remember was being in pain for the whole day. I had a Drs appointment Monday morning and my Dr stripped my membranes. Yes, it's as painful as it sounds. After my appointment, Greg and I went and walked around Wal-Mart. Sounds funny, but it was the middle of summer in Yuma and Wal-mart was the only cool place to walk. I had been having little contractions here and there but nothing substantial. After walking, we went home and waited a while. Finally by 8 o'clock that night, I was ready. The hospital was 30 minutes away. Once I got into triage, I wasn’t dilated enough to be admitted so 2 more hours of harsh contractions walking around the hospital. I do remember Greg being a wonderful coach though. It seemed like the only thing that would help was to sway side to side. Im sure it probably looked like we were dancing. Finally around 11:30 they admitted me. I had my epidural and I was set. They called my Dr around 12. Too bad for me it took her 2 and a half hours to get there!!!! I always wondered what took her so long. I think I had to push maybe 5 times and there he was. My mom and Greg’s family made it just in time. They drove down from Phoenix just in time to see sweet Cody Boy. Cody was a colic baby which made for long nights and hard days. I think he was pretty much over that by the time he was 3 months. He has always been very expressive about what he likes and does not like. He makes it very clear when he wants or needs something. There is really no ignoring him, b/c he'll find a way to get what he wants. He is also very stubborn and hard-headed, but at the same time he is so cute, it's hard to be mad at him. Ever since he was a baby, he had to touch my hair in order to fall asleep. He still does that. He's a mama’s boy when it comes to cuddling, but he also has to get in his wrestle time with Daddy. Cody loves all animals and animals seem to love him (could be he always has some sort of food on him). He loves to play cars and trucks. I think he must have 100 hot wheels. My mom got him a spring horse that he loves to play on, especially when Gregory is watching Westerns. He gets his cowboy hat on and his play gun stuck in the back of his diaper and just goes to town being "Cowboy Cody." It’s so much fun just to watch him play and use his imagination. He is such a wonderful, free spirited little boy. He is also turning out to be an awesome big brother.

Just a quick tid bit...My best friend Kate and I found out were due a day apart last March. Her due date was November 19th and mine was the 20th. Well, Kate had baby girl Riley the same day I had Trevor! What are the odds right?

Trevor was born on Wednesday November 21, 2007 at 10:19 in the morning. He was a big boy at 8lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. I was induced with Trevor because there was no luck with stripping the membranes (twice) and I never had any contractions. I was supposed to go in early morning on the 19th, but the hospital was too full. So, I was put on a waiting list. Finally, around 11 at night on the 20th, I was called in. I had sent a text to Kate to let her know I was on my way to the hospital and her husband Cody text me back to let me know she was already there (we delivered at different hospitals). Once I got there, they gave me patocin to induce me and an epidural a little while later. It was great! The delivery part of it was nothing. I had to push maybe 3 times and he was born within minutes, healthy as could be. However, a little after he was born I started to feel nauseous. I ate some yogurt and sure enough it came right back up. I sat up in bed and saw white spots everywhere and heard ringing in my ears then blacked out. They took some blood work and it said I was anemic. I was having lots of blood clots coming out. The Dr ran in and started cleaning me out and pushing on my stomach and let me tell you it hurt like heck. I like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerance too (2 kids before this, 2 tattoos, and a couple of piercings with no complaints) but this sucked!!! I was shaking uncontrollably; I thought I was having a seizer. I guess I was going in and out of it, b/c I woke up later and Greg had put a rose on my chest. I remember waking up and asking him if he thought I died. It was probably one of the scariest times of my life (besides Greg leaving for Iraq). Im so glad my mom was there to explain to me in English all the Doctor lingo. I did get to go home for Thanksgiving with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. This was a big deal because I had some scares early on in my pregnancy. On the first ultrasound, we found out that my placenta was sitting way too low so it was squishing Trevor’s kidneys. They were way too small. That was terrifying for both Greg and me. After a couple more ultrasounds and a visit to a perinatologist (sounds serious right) we found out everything was fine. I couldn’t figure out what the big deal was for having small kidneys. I mean, there are two of them. Turns out after some research, it can be a sign of Down Syndrome. It was very scary!!!! We are so blessed that Trevor is healthy! Trevor is turning out to be an angel baby. He rarely cries and sleeps all through the night. He smiles all the time and loves to look at the color blue. He loves to watch Cody and always smiles when he gets to take a bath. Trevor just seems to love life. It is so much fun just to sit and cuddle him. He makes the cutest cooing sounds. I can’t wait to see more of his personality. It just goes by too fast. Greg and I are so blessed and we are reminded of that every time we see our beautiful boys.

Justin Gregory Tieman was born Friday September 18, 2009 at 9:11 in the morning. He weighed in at exactly 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long.
