Dear Trevor
Dear Trevor,
I'm writing this down because your Dad and I always want to remember the time you dialed 9-1-1 and asked if Batman was there...
Love Mom

Mallory Christine Tieman
Mallory Christine Tieman was born Monday December 3, 2012 at 10:34am. She was a healthy 8lbs 1oz and 21 inches. Her expected arrival date was November 30th, but I guess she decided she wanted to share a birthday with her Mom. She was my 30th birthday present!!
I was a little lazy with this pregnancy. This being my 5th I figured I had a pretty good grasp of what to expect, so I slacked with the Dr’s appointments. Around my 5th month, I still hadn’t been to see a Dr. One night I started getting pains in my back. Early the next morning, the pains turned into shooting pains and then they moved to my lower stomach. I knew I wasn’t in labor, but I also knew there was something wrong and that it was time to go to the hospital. Being pregnant, there wasn’t a whole lot of pain meds readily available. After a couple hours and an ultrasound, the Dr’s let me know I had kidney stones and a nasty kidney infection. I was stuck in the hospital for 5 days. But after passing what my Dr called “the moon rock”, a couple ultrasounds, and lots of antibiotics I was just fine. The one good thing about being in the hospital was that they did the baby ultrasound. That’s when I found out we were having a girl and that she was healthy. About 2 months after the stones, I failed my hour glucose test. I had never had a problem with the glucose test with the other pregnancies, so again, I was a little surprised. After the 3 hour test, everything came back normal.
Besides the stones and glucose scare, this was a very easy pregnancy. I had a little bit of morning sickness that seemed like a breeze compared to the morning sickness I had with Trevor. Gregory and I would go on lots of walks and I would always tell him how surprised I was to feel so good. I worked almost all the way through the pregnancy and I rarely felt tired or sore and had very little swelling. I had my Dr strip my membranes at my 38 week appointment, but little Miss just wasn’t ready yet. For Thanksgiving Gregory and I got up early and went hiking with Keri thinking that might start some contractions…Nope.
My Dr was out of town for Mallory’s actual due date so I decided that it was time to be induced. The earliest induction appointment they had just happen to be on my birthday. We were told we would get the call anytime that day but at 1:30 in the morning, the nurse called saying they had a bed ready. So I took a shower, put on some make up and Gregory and I headed for the hospital. We got there around 3:00am, got checked in, put in my room and started some penicillin around 4:00. By 7:30 I was having contractions on my own that were about 10 minutes apart. I was given another dose of penicillin and started the pitocin. My Dr came in and guessed I’d be ready to deliver by 1:00 in the afternoon. I guessed 10:35. I’m not sure what time I got my epidural, because I had to wait in line for the epidural. The lady that was before me apparently wouldn’t sit still and the anesthesiologist kept having to re-due or whatever it was she was doing, over and over again. Well I was ready for epidural. When I finally got it, it didn’t work. It took the edge off the pain and it made it manageable, but I still felt everything. My Dr came in around 10:25, got scrubbed up and by 10:30 I was pushing. I literally pushed 3 times and she was out at 10:34…1 minute before my guess…Mallory came out being a “good Tieman” girl (family joke). We were able to leave the hospital the next day around noon and I felt great.
Mallory has been such an amazing addition to our family. She’s a cuddler. She loves to be held which works out because Miss Princess is rarely put down. When she does sleep, she’s napping around 2 hours at a time and at night she’s sleeping around 6-8 hours. She has such a comforting presence about her. When I hold her, it calms me and I feel at peace. Being around her reminds me so much of the way I felt being around my Mom. When Mallory was in my belly, I would talk to her and tell her how special she was because I knew Mimi Cristy picked us a good one. I would tell her how jealous I was because I knew Mimi Cristy was rocking her and singing to her. Even know it brings tears to my eyes. I just feel so blessed and lucky that we have Mallory in our lives. The boys have been amazing with her. They are all very protective over her and love to help hold her and feed her. They are great big brothers! We all love Mallory so so much!

Halloween 2012
The boys all decided to be some sort of Ninja for Halloween this year. We went to Trunk or Treat at church, came home and emptied the first loot of candy then went around our neighborhood for another hour or so collecting more and more candy. I was a little sore from walking so much but the Boys had a great time! It's fun to think that next year we'll have little M to dress up too!!

Waiting On Little Miss M
I have about a billion pictures to upload, but when little turkeys get in your camera stuff and hide your camera cables from you it can make that task a bit challenging.
So for now, we're all just waiting patiently for Little Miss Mallory to get here. Hopefully another week or 2.

So This Is My Blog?
Hello Blog!!! I almost forgot you existed...almost.
There is soooooo much updating to be done. But for now, I'll start with the top 5 most important.
1. We Moved!!!! To a bigger house for a big family. I knew we couldn't live in my Moms house forever and I think part of the reason we did stay was that I some how thought in my mind that was the only way to stay close to my mom or that someday she would magically come walking through the door. It took me a while and with Greg's help made me realize that I don't need to be in her house to still close to her. So now we live less than a mile from Gregory's parents and a couple blocks from a park. This is where we're suppose to be right now.
2. I got a new job with the Washington School District working for Head Start!!! I'm so excited to be working with kids again. It's something I love and I get paid for it. What could be better?! Maybe next year I'll back to school and get my teaching degree?
3. Gregory and I just celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary! We spent it running around taking care of last minute school stuff. Romantic I know. But our baby sitters are out of town (Congrats on graduating from BYU Rachel!!)) Hopefully sometime in the near future we can plan something fun.
4. I had Kidney Stones. Last month I was having really bad cramping, so bad that I couldn't take it anymore. I went to the ER and ended up spending 5 days in the hospital. I had passed the stone (or moon rock as the Dr called it bc it was so big!) the first day but ended up getting a kidney infection that did not want to go away. I have never in my life spent that much time in the hospital and hope I never have to again!
5. And last but certainly not least....Gregory and I are expecting a new baby girl the very end of November (I'm holding out for Dec 1st :) Yes, I'm 6 months pregnant! The boys are so excited. We don't have any names picked out but we're working on it. So far the boys have come up with Narnia, Sharky, and Tank....I don't think any of those are in the running but they make me laugh. Next step is a new vehicle that can accommodate a family of 6.

January
Before Cody had to go back to school from Winter Break, we decided to take the boys on their first camping trip. We went to Minus Mountain. I have so many fond memories of being up there as a kid and I'm so happy that I get to start making new memories for my boys.
We had planned on staying 3 days, but after 2 nights the boys were ready to be done. It didn't help that it got down to freezing at night. But we will definitely be making more trips up there this summer.

All About The Kiddos
Just a quick tid bit...My best friend Kate and I found out were due a day apart last March. Her due date was November 19th and mine was the 20th. Well, Kate had baby girl Riley the same day I had Trevor! What are the odds right?
Trevor was born on Wednesday November 21, 2007 at 10:19 in the morning. He was a big boy at 8lbs 12oz and 21 inches long. I was induced with Trevor because there was no luck with stripping the membranes (twice) and I never had any contractions. I was supposed to go in early morning on the 19th, but the hospital was too full. So, I was put on a waiting list. Finally, around 11 at night on the 20th, I was called in. I had sent a text to Kate to let her know I was on my way to the hospital and her husband Cody text me back to let me know she was already there (we delivered at different hospitals). Once I got there, they gave me patocin to induce me and an epidural a little while later. It was great! The delivery part of it was nothing. I had to push maybe 3 times and he was born within minutes, healthy as could be. However, a little after he was born I started to feel nauseous. I ate some yogurt and sure enough it came right back up. I sat up in bed and saw white spots everywhere and heard ringing in my ears then blacked out. They took some blood work and it said I was anemic. I was having lots of blood clots coming out. The Dr ran in and started cleaning me out and pushing on my stomach and let me tell you it hurt like heck. I like to think I have a pretty high pain tolerance too (2 kids before this, 2 tattoos, and a couple of piercings with no complaints) but this sucked!!! I was shaking uncontrollably; I thought I was having a seizer. I guess I was going in and out of it, b/c I woke up later and Greg had put a rose on my chest. I remember waking up and asking him if he thought I died. It was probably one of the scariest times of my life (besides Greg leaving for Iraq). Im so glad my mom was there to explain to me in English all the Doctor lingo. I did get to go home for Thanksgiving with a beautiful, healthy baby boy. This was a big deal because I had some scares early on in my pregnancy. On the first ultrasound, we found out that my placenta was sitting way too low so it was squishing Trevor’s kidneys. They were way too small. That was terrifying for both Greg and me. After a couple more ultrasounds and a visit to a perinatologist (sounds serious right) we found out everything was fine. I couldn’t figure out what the big deal was for having small kidneys. I mean, there are two of them. Turns out after some research, it can be a sign of Down Syndrome. It was very scary!!!! We are so blessed that Trevor is healthy! Trevor is turning out to be an angel baby. He rarely cries and sleeps all through the night. He smiles all the time and loves to look at the color blue. He loves to watch Cody and always smiles when he gets to take a bath. Trevor just seems to love life. It is so much fun just to sit and cuddle him. He makes the cutest cooing sounds. I can’t wait to see more of his personality. It just goes by too fast. Greg and I are so blessed and we are reminded of that every time we see our beautiful boys.
Justin Gregory Tieman was born Friday September 18, 2009 at 9:11 in the morning. He weighed in at exactly 7 lbs and was 19.5 inches long. Everything in a time period of about 36 hours happened so quickly. I had my Dr’s appointment at 2 on Thursday and when I was there, he asked if I wanted the 12 am or 4 am spot to be induced. I took the 12 am spot. Gregory and I made it to the hospital around 12:30, checked in, and then went up to Labor and Delivery. I was given “the gel” around 2:15 am and by 2:20 I was already having small contractions. My nurse had me get up and walk the halls for about 40 minutes. I’m not sure what time I had my epidural? It was with the first nurse I had, so sometime between 3 and 6 am. I got a new nurse around 6:15 and she let me sleep for about 3 hours to get some rest. She came in 8:45-9:00 to check on me and see if I had dilated at all. To my surprise (and hers), I was fully dilated!!! I had slept through all of my contractions! It’s a good thing my Dr was just down stairs getting ready to come up and break my water. I felt so bad for him. I pretty much shot my baby out at him. I pushed 3 times (for about a minute) and he was out. They did have to use to vacuum on him because I already had some abrasions and was starting to bleed. Luckily I got all the medicine I needed and then some to help with the bleeding and everything went really well. I was able to leave the hospital the next day, feeling pretty good. Justin is only a couple of days old, but he is already such a blessing for our family. He is a wonderful baby and absolutely beautiful. Cody and Trevor can’t seem to get enough of him. They love getting to help feed Justin. They are such good big brothers! With Justin now here, I feel our family is complete. Gregory and I couldn’t be happier to have 3 wonderful boys in our lives!
